2 others and myself have applied for permits from the Crown Estate but none of us have received an answer. Last time I applied I got it back almost instantly.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I had problems also, numerous requests unactioned. I emailed Claire.Tallboys@thecrownestate.co.uk and had an apology and permits within the hour.
I think there is a problem their end with the system.
Good luck.

Yes, I have just got this sorted but not without having to work out the problem myself.
After many failed attempts at getting a response from the Crown Estate I wondered if it was my ISP that was blocked at their end and sure enough when I sent through my work email the permit bounced back in seconds.
My ISP is AOL and I can only think that The C.E. have a block on them after AOLs recent hacking problems.
I was already on the verge of changing after 16 years with them so my order is already in.
The bottom line is if you can't get a response from the C.E. try another email address from a different ISP/

Thank you to all contributors to this forum. I have just joined MDF today as I wish to take up detecting and looked at this forum so as I get the right permissions before I start. The postings were very informative and I now have my CEF Permit. Now to find out what other permission I need and where to get them. Thank you again.

Hello Micky,
as you know..Foreshore Permit for Crown owned beach, for others you need owner permission. Inland you will need landowner permission too. A good place to start learning is your own garden if you have one. Also do consider getting insurance from NCMD or FID it's less than a tenner a year and peace of mind. Keep us inforned of your finds.

regards

Clint

Applied for mine on two different computers from two different areas to different email addresses and nothing... so i sent them an email.just have to play the waiting game i guess.
Cheap Chinese no name detector.(to be changed at the soonest possible chance)
Roughneck short spade.
No where near enough time to visit permissions.
No pin pointer either(yet).
But loads of enthusiasm and enjoys getting out in the fresh air.
