Deus Backphones (Very Low Volume)

Post by whitestone »

Hi .... I'm hoping someone can give me a little advice regarding the volume on my Deus Backphones please?.

I've had the Deus for 3 years and it has been totally faultless, until the other day. Although the volume is turned up to the max (9) I can now barely hear the signals. I'm wondering if this could be simply a backphone wiring problem or something more (battery perhaps?). It literally started on Sunday when I switched on to detect only to struggle to hear signals that would normally ring loud and clear. I'm happy to buy a new set of backphones if required but would like some advice on what this may be before I order a new set. Many thanks.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my post. Actually it's encouraging to see others have had the same problem and found out it was a simple backphones replacement that was required, I certainly hope so. This evening I have emailed the guys at Regtons where I bought the Deus from for advice and will order some new backphones hopefully ... Thank you again guys. Tom.

I got a quick reply from Nigel at Regtons. He advised me to slide the electronics off the backphones, give the contacts a wipe and put back together and try again. I did so cleaning the contacts with white spirit .... and the backphones now work fine!. In 3 years I've never took the things apart so possibly it really was just a little dirt or grease getting in the way of a good contact. Anyway, all ok now and thanks to Nigel at Regtons for taking the time to come back with advice. ::g ::g
