I found the following item below and would be glad of your help in identifying it.
Apologies for the measuring ruler - the kids have disappeared with the 'serious' one!
I also found a lead disc shape about the size of a one pence piece and very weighty - it has no marks. Any ideas? it is about 2 mm in depth.
When I can resize my other images I'll put them on.
It appears to be lead and is a pot shape. the bottom section has an inner lighter coloured 'circle'. Is it anything to do with being a gunpowder mixer/holder or, just part of a tractor?Apologies for the measuring ruler - the kids have disappeared with the 'serious' one!

Hi Putty
Thanks. I did wonder about it being some sort of weight - shame I can't find any markings on it.

looks to me like a old bullet . the lighter core could be the lead used inside the "round" to keep it balanced in flight and being lead flatten on impact to maximise damage on exit.

Thanks for that suggestion. The softer material in the centre is certainly an enigma. If it is a bullet then, the centre being different would certainly make sense.

looking at it a bullet would be my first though. but looking at the size now at nearly 20mm that would be a seriously big round only thing id think would be an anti aircraft /cannon round hard to tell really some one on here will nail it.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I wish that I could offer a better image - but, I don't have a good enough macro lens on the camera.
Maybe this description may help more:
the height of the lead object is easily 2 and a 1/2 cm
the measurement is 2 cm across the centre
the object is flat at the base and is cylinder shaped (I assume it to have straight sides though it is 'caved in')
the sides are about 2-3 mm thick
the object is hollow and has an inner lighter coloured circle in the centre of the base (about 1 1/2 cm across)
The bullet theory would only really hold out if it were from a large gun. Someone did suggest it was similar to a pot that held gunpowder during the English civil war era though, I don't know. It is an oddity!

my cemera isnt that hot either but if i take photo then crop it on my kodak program thing ma jiggy it zooms in on the cropped image and gives it a lot of detail it might work for you?
I agree Putty. The only problem is that the definition of the image tends to suffer - that was the case with the images of this object after I cropped them.
