CTX3030 serial number
Is the serial number stamped into the body somewhere, or is it just on a sticker ? If its on a sticker, do they wash off/fall off, or would someone have had to have had a proper go at getting it off ??

I've seen a CTX for sale, but the seller reckons the serial number was on a sticker that was removed by the previous owner. Up until that point I was all for driving halfway up the country and buying it, but that sounded very suspect ! I thought I'd ask.

Thanks, I'm sure I made the right decision buts its nice to hear some support ! I always try to see the best in people, but I've got other hobbies where scams seem to be rife, and I know a couple of (usually very sensible) people who have been scammed out of thousands involving cars and equestrian equipment. Seems like a way of life for some people !
I think I might end up buying new - once you factor in the warranty/peace of mind its probably best. The CTX price seems pretty much set/fixed across the suppliers I've seen, but most are including a probe and bag as a sweetener. I'm just itching to get started !

I think that was a wise move not to proceed with that purchase, sounds like a 'asbestos glove job' and although it may have been a cheap price in the long term it could have cost you alot more than what you initially paid for it.
