Loads of finds this month. Really need help...!

Post by Addicted to bleeps »

Hello fellow mud botherers! I've had a productive month of detecting. I've chucked all the pics of my finds in my blog, as it's too much to add it all here, and I explain it all there. I have no idea what half this stuff is, though.

Any help or pointers to what some of this is would be really, really appreciated:

Hiya, Jayreef.

Lead bag seal? Cool! Thats my first of one of those.

And inside of a pocket watch? Yea, that makes sense. :)

That site with the buckles is the one where I came to the conclusion that the buckle i found is most likely Medieval.

Thanks! :)

Nice finds...
1 is a bag seal as already mentioned
http://ourpasthistory.com/Gallery/bagseals

2 very corroded shotgun cap?...although i think i can see the letter "s" or #5?

3 clock/watch/compass part maybe

4 with a lion and unicorn i would say livery button
http://www.colchestertreasurehunting.co ... uttons.htm

5 possibly a coin weight or a trading token....

6 The buckle i would say by the shape is more modern than medieval.....18th or 19th century

7 nice watch

8 Is possible a muskett shot or catapult shot.....its lead so wash your hands after handling it if it has a dusty coating...

9 bullets...

10..nice buttons always shows human activity...

11 farming washer...i have a few of those to...

Keep it up....

Cheers, Blacky!

Its been great, it really has. I've really enjoyed it.

I forgot to say that the one you think is a musket ball, is actually flat-sided on the other side? Its a weird little thing.

The think that might be a shotgun shell feels and looks like stone. Its compacted like stone, or pottery. It has a black circle on it, and the diameter seems thicker than a shotgun end. Mystery!

Anyhow, thanks for taking a look! :)
