Dues 13x11 coil charging problem !!!!

Post by Junior »

Just bought a new 13 X11 coil, been out twice with happy with it. Until went to charge it. Put clip on with lead on the left hand side as norm with the 9 " no charge light on coil nor the control box and the headphones. No charge light on the usb plug Thought o the charger tried another usb charger the same prob. No led on charger no charging of anything. Until unplugged the coil. Then usb led came on and the head phones/ control started charging. Plugged 9 " coil in with control/ phones fine.The 13" coil Woz not completely flat still showed 1 bar on control. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks junior. x; x; x;

I dearant!!!! The first charge when I bought the coil the lead Woz as normal with the lead on the left of the charging clip/ coil It's charging the 9" coil now and head/ control box. Superb. But soon as u put the 13" coil on the charge light on the charger goes out and stops the other items. If u take the 13" out of the charge equation the control box/head phones charge. Cheers junior. If it's going to happen it's going to happen to me. x; x; x; B|

Just took coil cover off. No grit. Tryed 1.5 emg charger clip. The same. Wriggled it still no led on plug. Pins on it move in and out ok. Finally got it too work Put a small piece of tape under wide side of the clip. Funny it didn't come on when wiggled. Cheers. Panic over.

Just put my own trio on charge - controller, headset and coil. Yes it does take a bit of delicate adjustment now and then but at least you have not resorted to the male approach and exerted more force as that will end in tears with a broken pin.
Good luck with everything, Liam OooO

The pins are very very delicate and can be damaged very easily.
Look at both pins with a jewellers loup X30 or very strong magnifying glass and check that they are perfect.

I had a problem with two charging clamps, the first snapped at the flexi part and the second had a pin that was out of line.
With the latter, both pins seemed to go in and out ok, it's only when I looked closely at the pins that I could see that one of the pins had a slot worn into the body of the charging clamp. This caused the pin to flex out of line therefore missing the contact on the coil. This caused the light on the coil to flash brightly on and off so I knew instantly that there was something wrong.

I am now on my THIRD coil clamp!!! ;;z

I developed a 'no charge' with my 9" coil, worked fine then suddenly stopped, emailed Regtons for advice.

11" coil no problems.

This is what they advised me to do:

Take off coil cover and clean. Still not charging.

Make sure the corners of the coil cover are pressed fully home where the coil webbing comes across the coil. Still not charging

This is what I did:

I changed the charging lead, coil charging plug and wall mounted plug. Still not charging.

Plug the charging plug onto the coil without the coil cover being on. Now charging, so the coil was OK, than goodness.

In the exchanging of emails it was suggested the coil charging plug may need to be moved very gently either towards the middle/outer edge of the coil once connected. Now working.

Next time I'm up at Regtons I will replace the coil cover with a new one hopefully that will resolve the problem.
