Minelab 15/25/35 pin pointers

Post by Junior »

I've had enough of the carrot....the question is ....is the15 or 25 the same as the older black one but in new colours???? I had the older black one and found the vibrate and sound very lacking especially when detecting near the sea....had it about 2 months and traded it in ...the 35 helps with ferrous items but I don't know if I'd trust it ? Any ideas... Cheers

I use the 35 and it's very good and reliable so far. You don't quite use it the same as a normal pinpointer though. I did a full writeup in the pinpointers section.

Funnily enough I am starting to like the ferrous ID facility, which I didn't think that I'd ever use. ::g

I had the 35 but the speaker fills with mud and goes very quiet, after 3 weeks I found water had got in through speaker , so sent it back.
Iron I'd is hit and miss , worked more on foil than iron.

My Minelab 35 speaker fills with mud but it soon washes out in the rain or the sea. A year in and no sign of any problems yet, which means that it has outlasted most of my Garrets except the carrot. It detects small objects at least as well as any other probe and my oven from about 15 inches. The discriminate function has proved its worth many times over. ::g
