Garrett carrot problems,

I have had the orange Garrett pro pointer for about a year and a half and recently it's completely draining the battery after a short hunt put a new battery in last time same batteries I always use as last a long time and I go detecting after a couple of hours it gives me the sound to say it's low battery so changed again not long after it did it again it's not the first problem iv had with this pro pointer falling so have to turn it off and on in the past that has settled but now I have this problem and I bought this from a reputable dealer too anyone know of anyway i could sort this problem thank you
