Just seen this - WOW... TBH if it was me I ask a question, do play by the book and wait for FLO and chance it being plundered when they cant be bothered to visit or have it out for safe keeping....

Looks amazing but I have just noticed the image of the back of one of the brooches shows two marks either side of the pin lug. They look makers marks. Would this be normal on a saxon brooch?

Doesn't look like maker's marks to me. Wow what a discovery! I've just spent a good while looking at some amazing posts in the 'hoards and treasure' section and I take my hat off to you all

These are finds of a lifetime. I wish I hadn't sold my Safari now a few years back....some idiot told me that it struggled finding gold........ Well done, I think I would still be shaking with finds like that!!!!

Absolutely stunning. The great thing about the hobby, you never know whats going to happen. Could have been lost forever but a detectorist found it and thats another great thing for the hobby

Browsing through the old topics and came across this fantastic find from Greg, what an absolutely great find and one that can rarely be bettered. I always think of these finds when I am out and finding zero, that next target COULD be the one ![[75/]](./images/smilies/75_EmoticonsHDcom.png "Heart")

Yes, fully agree. The MDF archives are like a magazine of super detecting exploits
On horrible rainy days I often take a trip back in time to special events and finds made by the members. Been chatting with Gary Blackwell of XP and he has agreed to return to Norfolk for another super day of XP detecting, so perhaps some treasures may pop up there
