Don't think I will be swapping out the Garrett until it breaks, only just paid for the CTX so it will have to wait :))

thats probably why there has only been one top end pin pointer on the market, its not exactly the must have up grade is it? so there for no money in it.

I was in the market for a pointer, so decided to give the minelab a try. OK so its a few quid more, but I'm thinking it's not going to be any worse than the garrett; who knows maybe better !! I will let you know my findings when it arrives (tomorrow hopefully) :)) :))
Unfortunately, never owning a Garrett will make it difficult to compare.

If you don't open it, you could always send it back :-/
If they have good customer service then they should accept returns as long as they are in good saleable condition ::g B-)

Sorry guy's I had blinker syndrome :D

O dear... Glad I saw that, I had started looking around and was thinking of a possible upgrade and selling the Garrett.

Should never had doubted my trusty Garrett

Sorry guys, I would need more evidence than one mans "field test" to put me off. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to take advice, but one mans verdict is simply not enough for me.
Did you see his garret "field test" by the way? I'm not convinced :))
I will draw my own conclusions and report back, bad or good ::g

Already opened it,played with it indoors,it's funny had a bit off a sinking
feeling just doing air tests, expected to be wowed but wasn't really
I told myself it would do better in the field ,oh well you live and you learn.
Thought I would off learnt a bit more by now :))

A point of view from Oz
I couldnt carry the garret when using a 4500 because of interference. The minelab is perfect

Minelab has about a 50% longer range and detects really small gold that the Garrett didn't

MOST important were the garrett falses if u push it into the ground the minelab doesnt

If using a Minelab this is a much better pointer and the lack of falsing is worth the extra money regardless of what you use

MY opinion only

Hey Lewis it doesn't matter if you opened it.
Under the distance selling regulations (google it mate) you have 7 days to tell them you want to send it back.

Brett - you have the Minelab, then? Could you do a comparison test with the Propointer on a few common objects, large and small, for us?
