well to start off can I say what a fantastic idea the emulator is !! full marks for that ::g
can I now be very cheeky and suggest someone puts this up for a phone app?
I own a iphone and think this emulator would be of benefit to a lot of people

Well my humble opinion as a new ET user...I never used the emulator before buying the machine, although I was advised to..BUT it is quite easy to navigate through the menus and find out where things are and make adjustments. The only thing I struggled on was downloading files/programmes to the Etrac exchange but soon had that sorted with help off the forum..it is easy..even for me!As for target numbers for coins etc...these may ring true in air tests but may not on actual targets esp. in iron or mineral infested ground. You really need to get the machine and use it..it gradually, with time and patience, becomes clear what to dig.I wish I had more time to get out as this machine really is good,I`ve winkled stuff out of areas I gave up on with the Euroace-although the Euro did serve me well as a starter machine and I still have it as back up.People always seem to go on about the vast amount of tones/noise...true it`s noisy-only if you want it to be..for eg. if you set it to multi tones and give the amount..say 20,you will get 20 different tones, all for different ferrous/conductive qualities of different metals..but you can set it for 2 or 4 tones if you like but it won`t be as effective as the machine is more descriminating/accurated with higher settings.Don`t let this put you off..your brain soon adjusts as "good" tones seem grouped together and stand out.As for swapping to conductive tones from ferrous..easy-peasy!!

regards

Clint

Has anyone tried to download this emulator lately? It only seems to ever play one tone when 'scanning' over a target, which is a bit useless if you're trying to learn the tones, except during the 'startup' process and when in pinpoint mode, where it seems to play the range of tones.
I'm running Win 7 but have tried it as 'admin' and in compatibility modes for other OS's but nothing seems to be making any difference.
Current setup:
XP Deus v2.0, MINELAB Equinox 800 v1.7.5, GARRETT Pro-Pointer
MD'ing since Sept '11

I had to delete the program in the end because it somehow locked up my computer when I tried to use it. To be honest I think it was more a bit of fun than a valuable tool.

It replicates the positive target tones you should be listening for when you sweep over it but does not simulate ground mineralization so you dont get the sqeeks and squawks as you do in the field.
lots of MD related stuff ;))

Ok thanks folks. I'd incorrectly assumed it was a full emulator.
