I'd be tempted myself if cash wasn't so tight at the moment. We have big stretches of barren beach at low tide and a pi would ideal for the depth at low tide were all the bathers lose all that precious bling when they go swimming.

I bought my Crossbow solely for hoard hunting with the occasional use on the beach,a Pulse machine like any other detector has some limitations as no detector will do everything perfectly due to the way that it operates it has its good points and bad points with this is mind you then have to detect within these limits.

What people have quoted depth wise regarding the Crossbow is totally reliable and this is just with the stock coil, what has not been mentioned is that most Mono coils from Minelab and Whites Pulse machines can be made to work on this detector this then opens the door even wider if using a bigger coil to go much deeper for locating hoards that normal VLF can only dream about.

I would say this is the best machine that i have bought ::g

Nexus SE dual 9'' coil.
Whites TDI Pro 20'' coil.

They use a 19 volt Laptop Charger, got mine off Ebay for £7.97 with free postage. Given the cheapness off the charger then I found it strange they did not come with one but I think the original seller thought a lot of people would already have one.

I am sending a PM to you of the correct one as ebay links are not allowed on the forum.
It's all the Headless Hunters fault !!

I'm lead to believe that the original (failed) order was from Germany so the relevent chargers were to be supplied by the Retailer over there. ;)

Any laptop charger with the right "end" will do. My toshiba notebook charger works a treat.

As for depth ... I am over 6 foot and have to carry my spade on my shoulder sometimes using full depth. If I carry it normally or drag it the Crossbow detects its.

Its power is awesome.
