I find i dig a crappy item and then remember where it appeared on the screen and don't dig it again
I tend to agree, I always use a open screen with the tones reversed so the iron is a low grunt and it works for me. But Ghost 2 or 3 is a good checker programme for iffy signals.

You have to be a Platinum member to get full benefit of being able to download programmes etc. People don't realise how much it costs to run a forum like MLO and also the huge finds database that is linked to it thats why there is a small annual charge. The server fees alone each year are massive. This MDF forum relies on pulling money in from a different way by selling sponsorship space to dealers and charging people to sell their stuff on its Auction site. Nothing can be done for nothing, some people think it can or should be.
well said Tony I agree with you 100%.

Anubis. I would definitely dig everything on the screen wherever it falls If the sound and tones seem right. You are going to be missing some good stuff maybe a rare hammered If you dont dig something just because it rings up in the same place on the screen with the same numbers as some crap you dug. !2 - 15 on the ETrac was always shottie caps for me on our permissions, 12 - 44-45 was always an old penny, but theres a hell of a lot of other stuff good and bad would share those numbers also.
With the amount of history we have in the UK ground you can never be too careful.
It always amazes me the amount of patterns and discrim the Americans use but then when you think what they got in their ground compared to us you can understand their wish to not be digging mountains of crap all day. Different ball game over there.
I have lost track of Gordons tadpole and ghost numbers now, think I use 3 on both. Both work perfect for me on my CTX. I'm usually in max sens most of the time.
