regtons sell the stem cap £4,99,
i have had mine nearly a year now and on those wet days or shallow water searches i wouldn't be without it. just be careful where you store it when not in use as the membrane will soon get damaged if it left loose in your detecting bag ::g ::g

All ordered only the epoxy to purchase locally while the case is ICOD.

Thanks again for the tip. ::g Jerry.

Yes i am out in the rain as well tomorrow, 1 of my permissions has been sold off and i only have a few days left on it, so i am out come rain, shine or winds.

you never know, i might find a few more blank crusty pennies or even half a crotal, but i will give my case at least 7 hours in the rain.

HH on your dig jerry

Hi guys, I was out in the pouring rain for a few hours and this case kept my Deus Controller 100% dry.

One fault I did have was that the controller came off 5 times but it was on the lanyard so was not a serious problem.

I had thought of using one of Swarfy`s extra powerful mag mounts that we used before the XP slide mount option became available.

However I had a spare slide mount and bonded that to the mating top cap already bonded to the waterproof case.

When I fit it into the top of the shaft using the 2 small screws only God will move it.

Just thought this experience might help others. ;) Jerry.

Jerry, i was out in the rain with mine all day today, but mine stayed on the stem all day, but like you i do have a lanyard fitted anyway.

and it felt really good to open up the case and see a pristine remote inside after a days detecting, the outside of the case was muddy and dirty, which is what the remote would have looked like if i was not using the case, and had happened to me plenty of times with my old deus.

Hi HH,

The field was a mud bath and a wipe with a clean cloth and the case was clean again.

Just watched another video where a guy "Fernoxmd "was using Super Velcro 3M Duel Lock X strong Velcro instead of adhesive to attach his case.

Might help someone who has not used adhesive.

At less than £10 for the case and £5 for the 3m Velcro its a good investment. :) Jerry.

I went to buy another case for my m8`s Deus and the company has sold out of these cases.

Went to another site where they are a bit more expensive and they only have one left.

The originators of this thread certainly have started something going. ;) :) Jerry.

J-B KWIK WELD which is a 2 part Epoxy Adhesive, this took a day to go off and set, but now it is solid.

you can get this online at around £4 delivered, and you will have a lot left over as you only use a small amount
Super glue failed for me but I'll give the poxy a go.

If the protective screen gets muddy in the field, DON’T wipe it with your muddy mits, it will "scratch/cloud" the soft rubber. I've got one of those 99p 5ml atomisers which with a couple of squirts gets mud off, also good for cleaning mud off finds in the field.

Thanks for the tip with wiping the mud and muck off.

In the end I used Glu&Fix from Bostik sparingly for a neat job on the 3m Duel lock Velcro and now only God will move the case off the backing plate. ;) Jerry.
