You can get the lite package to include the remote instead of headphones i have the fullset up but dont like ws4 headphones as they feel a bit heavy for me so i have remote in my pocket with normal xp headphones plugged in.

iv had the deus lite for just over a year, i got the lite because even though the full deus is the best, at the time £600 more to me is a lot and its dropped down to £500 ish, its to much money for me.i love to dig on tones anyway so im a very happy boy with my deus lite.im not the best with sorting out the settings on most things but i love to take the time to get to know the deus or any detector is telling me.the lite is a great detector that can be turned on and start or you can change a lot compared to most other detectors.i love how lite it is with no leads and bother with batteries.anyway ill stop going on about it and just say yes the full deus is the way to go but its not the only way and when money is tight the deus lite is the very close second best in my humble opinion. ::g

I'd definitely reccommend getting the controller Little B ::g If you can't finance the full package then go, as I advised CD, for the lite with controller coil and stem ::g Wear the controller on an armband with conventional headphones - almost wire free ::g

I've used (very) old Tesoros for many years and still do, mostly on the Thames foreshore ::g My favourite is the Eldorado and looking at a pic of the Euro Sabre see it has the same controls. Apart from setting GB I never use the non motion All Metal. Something I discovered on the first outing with it (and it was the first in the country) was that after setting GB and switching to Disc was to turn up the Threshold control, all the way if appropriate - amazing response to small hammies!!!!! ::g

Finally bought the remote from regtons on saturday they did it for £548 well impressed easy to programme and nice to have the visual reference as well, saying that i have done perfectly well with the lite version over the last 12 months so the lite is a good choice, cheers Gaz ::g ::g ::g ::g ::g

big price cutting going on in the US on deus ,so is there a new model in the offing or are they worried about the fors core and makro racer ?? cutting into their market
they say its due to the drop in the euro in whuch case UK prices of XPs should be slashed as well .
its about time deus prices were falling IMO

I certainly hope so. I told hubby the price Garry was well pleased with for the remote and he spluttered 'God God' and retreated behind his newspaper. I am sure it IS a relative snip but frankly the chances of getting that sort of expense OK'd at our next family finance pow-wow are slimmer than Vale winning the Champions League.

Get one I want one to, you can always sell it on if you don't get on with it. They hold their price, do it.

I too would recommend getting the remote also. However this can be bought later on so no need to get it right away. Many people say this is an audible machine and that may work for them but not for me. Coke for example gives me a lovely sharp sound which I cannot seem to differentiate from non ferrous so a quick glance at the VDI can show coke 25 to 35. Large or very wet pieces of coke can however fool this and give a signal up to 80 or so but 75% of the time, for me anyway, the VDI is very useful and I would not be without it.

If you get the lite version you can always add the remote at some point in the future.

Ya got the coke the same as i do Chilgrove, if the numbers are bouncing in the higher figures then it probably is. I've dug bits of lead with it also, may be one reason it does this sometimes..Imo. only.

OK...Thanks for all the imput. Very interesting reading.
I have decided to upgrade the headphones on my Tejon and stick with it. It was bought for Pete but he didn't get on with it being used to visuals etc....whereas I have a small Tesoro which is sound only so it isn't so different with me and after a couple of small sorties using it and teasing out a hammered with it from a very heavily detected field I thought it was worth persevering with.
I tend to stick with machines and try and get the most out of them...I've had the Invincible for 6 years now. But for pasture the Tejon is a better option. I am keeping the Invincible because its paid for itself 10 times over and owes me nothing.
I am getting Deus Lite in a few months for my birthday. I will find it plenty to really master before I get the remote. I like to take things a step at a time. I suppose I am more interested in Detecting than Detectors.
All the same, as I've purloined the Tejon a new machine for Pete was needed....so he went to Kevin at Staffs Metal Detectors and he's got himself a Minelab explorer. Twill suit him (too heavy for me) and will be useful on the beach as well. (The Tejon is pants I gather)
So now that is settled. Phew! I will master the beast that is the Tejon though....I am sure it will reap rewards. I remember my very first machine was a little BFO model that cost £19 in 1975. No discrimination....but I learnt that machine inside out and in the end I knew most of what I was digging.
