V4 update from XP
I'm really looking forward to the new coils & pin pointer in V4.
I normally search in 17 kHz , I'm fully aware that 12 kHz is slightly deeper, but I seem to find more desirable finds in 17 kHz ,,,, so the fact that soon I'll be able too search in 15 kHz ( in between the 17 & 12) ...... Is a win win for me!!!
As for the colour,,,,,,, I couldn't care in the slightest,,,, if it were a High Vis yellow!! Wouldn't bother me!!
Regards. Dave.

We have no exact release dates at the moment.
I am pretty sure it will not be before Christmas.
When this information is available it will be announced on our web site.
Thanks for you patience.

Some companies come up with a new product and then launch it into the market with fingers crossed. We have seen many examples of not-so-cheap machines failing soon after their debut.
XP are at least taking the time and effort to test the new products before they will be released. Its scant comfort to those who wanted something in the Christmas stocking but at least when something does appear it will stand less chance of having gremlins.
I will not be having the V4 or indeed the pinpointer, unless I rob the bank but good luck to all those who do buy one. I saw the pinpointer in action at the XP Rally and it would certainly be on my wish list. Happy New Year by the way to all of our wonderful forum members who make this a very special place to exchange information and hopefully make friends. Liam

Deus, WSi's - In the end we will regret the chances we didn't take, the relationships we were afraid to have and decisions we waited too long to make .. Lewis Carroll

The v4 update has been on the go for such a long time it makes me wonder if it's ever going to happen and this is just a ruse to keep interest in the Deus in it's current form. Let's face it, if XP were developing a Deus mk2 they would want to keep interest in the current product to cover development costs. It wouldn't surprise me if a mk2 hits the market and a v4 software upgrade never happens but the new advertised hardware will compatible with the new model and not the original Deus.

No mate that not going to be the case.

Is March the next release date?The Ferret wrote:Didn't look at the coils as they didn't interests me ... the pin pointer is probably my next investment as its got a 5 year warranty. Tried 2 other manufactures from the price band of £89 to £125.... All failed just outside the 2 years....
But then again what is a good 2 years warranty? Some people only go out once a month so that means the probe is used 24 times.... but if someone goes out twice a week then could the manufactures say "wear n tear"
Had 2 X G and one M pointers and waiting for the X to come out B-)
Bring on March rl;
