I was tempted to buy abroad when I got the CTX, very glad I didn't as it developed two different faults a month after the warrantee run out, my local shop told me that Minelab would not fix under warrantee, but as a loyal customer who has bought two machines and a few coils from them that they would repair free of charge, and even did it as I waited...

I was so glad I didn't get temped by the cheaper prices, as the repair would have been far in excess of the saving I would have initially made. They had also sold me both the coils heavily discounted as I got the machine from them..

I do buy other less complicated things worldwide, but something like this, I just wouldn't take a chance

PS I got my Deus from the UK as well and a good deal on that if you ring round and haggle
