Thanks cfbn will try this.

Kmarsh I managed 3hrs this afternoon within the first 10mins i found 2 copper coins caked in mud and not yet had time to Id them but they look like Vic Penny size. What I did notice when digging one of these was the depth increase ! it was about 2" + my Pro-pointer deep in the hole which is a first for me. So impressed by this wonder if I would find anything where I have already been over in one of the other fields?

One thing still possing a problem which cfbn may have a suggestion which i will try tomorrow is I and getting coke, Lead & Iron bits about size of 3" - 4" I am not digging anything under 30's if its a low tone and also leaving anything from 95+ the coppers seemed to be between 60's - 85's mark

I plan to make it a longer day Tomorrow Sunday 22nd fingers crossed things keep improving.

So thank you again everyone so far with all the help your all TOP guys !

Wathc this space tomorrow night ::g

Cheers

Some comments in the videos on Gary's Detecting website puzzled me. I avoid low grunt tones as I thought they are Iron/Trash but in one of the videos on this website what he calls iron bad tones I call good high tones

it does go to show that as some mentioned earlier a tone which gives no reading on the display can actually turn out to be something good. So digging out may give more indication what lies in the holes.

Cheers

Yes I have gone over a small area on my pasture after switching to this program and its a different machine, it seems much more alert than the other programs, although sometimes ya need to turn down sense as on a few occasions its a little chirpy.
But this is the Deus, press a few buttons and you have a different detector.... ::g

Thanks Kmarsh

Looking forward to covering a section of a field which I have covered a lot of times with both the Deus and my Etrac.

Can someone please have a look at the last video on the bottom of Garys Detecting website for the Deus Big Coil test. I am confused with him saying the tones he is hearing are iron when they are high tones. Very puzzled by this. http://www.garysdetecting.co.uk/xp_deus_coil_review.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you want depth increase on clean pasture try disc at 0 ,then notch out 0-6 increase sens to 95 and audio to 4or 5 ,THen try digging solid 98,s by this i mean a signal both ways.I have had some nice finds at over 15 inches, I have also spent 10 mins digging for small buttons but you never know.
Iv.e tried 8khz and 4khz at react 0 --1 ----and 2 but i still prefer useing all metal react 2 in 12khz or 18khz ,i think its a deep pasture mode that is versatile but you dont have to move the detecter too slowly.Coke on my pasture comes in at anything between16 to 35 .Ive set the tones to 202 below 35
and 791 above. i dig all high tones ;)

Gary does some good testing on his site, that said,,
the small coil cos the target is very deep gives an iron tone, its only picking the ferrous from the copper coins, whereas the large coil is giving a high tone as its picking the copper up from the coins with just a hint of iron tone....very digable Steven......
