Good post there, and Makro are very good with replacements .HowardCarter2 wrote:Teething problems, had similar issues with the Deus, bought the missus one in 2010 and said to leisure promotions that the arm rest was to weak. They said it was okay but proved right when the arm rest fell apart. Deus sent an new one and reinforced their new arm rest. I am sure that Makro too will get the racer right in the end and we are acting as field tester for these companies so a few hiccups along the way for a good machine is worth the hassle.
Issue with my Makro racer :( ****UPDATE**** page 3

The top half of the stem is made of one piece of tube and where it passes through the LCD control box just after the s bend it has sheered off.
It is literally in the dead centre of the control box and I can see the weakness where it has happened. For whatever reason there is a 8mm hole drilled through the stem and this is where it has broken away, the sideways swinging back and forth has caused pressure where the hole is drilled just after the bend.
Unfortunately there are a lot of delicate wires running round that part and I can that it has frayed at least 2.
Gutted is not the word
makro racer
Hi
The hole is 12mm it is nearly the whole side of the pole it only has 4 small wires coming out of it.
I can see a lot of problems with this when the weather gets colder and fatigue of the metal.

when my shaft broke i was asked to send the 'device' back to the repair centre in germany, fine but it cost me £51 royal mail and that was with only £300 insurance. Just received back last week and like yourself a whole new top section was supplied, was happy with the service but not the cost of it.andyb wrote:*******UPDATE*******
Just to update everyone, Cavit has emailed me this morning and has said that he is sending me the full system from battery box to LCD unit and too where the top section of stem clicks in. This means problem is solved however he hasn't responded to whever or not he believes its a design fault or a one off. Should be here with me Thursday or friday.

Shop around for postage, royal fail will rip you off to within an inch of your life.looksold wrote: when my shaft broke i was asked to send the 'device' back to the repair centre in germany, fine but it cost me £51 royal mail and that was with only £300 insurance. As you know the weight and size of the parcel and the address do a quick work out with this company and see if there is a huge difference

If the repair is made free of charge due to a fault in the manufacturing then the company should pay for the postage in my opinion - why should the purchaser be penalised for a machine that isn't fit for purpose?looksold wrote:when my shaft broke i was asked to send the 'device' back to the repair centre in germany, fine but it cost me £51 royal mail and that was with only £300 insurance. Hello all, mentioned a little earlier on in the thread and for anyone unaware, our MDF Auction dealer spin a disc is now allowed to hold spare parts so postage costs will be better than sending off to Germany etc.
I am not sure if other dealers will follow suit but that is the case for our MDF Dealer, if you have purchased off the MDF Auction and have run into issues your first port of call would be to contact our dealer through the MDF Auction messaging system which can be accessed in the members area by clicking the " Purchases " link from the left menu.
Cheers all

Bottom line is that your guarantee is with the retailer. Send it back to them and let them sort it out.
No reason at all why you or anyone should have to pay postage abroad.
