Programmes to add

Post by Dawezy »

Hi all

I’m quite new to the Deus I’ve had it for a while and only used the standard programs which seem to be working fine, I have the full version up to date with version 5 and looking for a couple more programmes to add.
I’ve heard of sprite, ultimate and sonar? But don’t know the settings.
Can anyone please share the settings or know of a really good one to try.

Easiest way is to search the names of the programs you want and watch the YouTube videos by XP Guru, Gary.
I personally use his Ultimate programme and find it a greta all rounder.
I am not at home at the moment, so cannot post the Ultimate settings at this time, but if you have problems finding the video, come back to me and I will assist.....

Thanks for the info

Lots of food for thought there, I will try the both this weekend, hopefully there will be enough numbers for the dig to go ahead.

Like I said the standard programmes are good but I need to spread my wings a little and see what this machine can do, I sat through an hours worth of Gary’s YouTube videos last night better............ than porn!!!!

Thanks ::g

Cheers Pinkfloyd, I totally agree with you, I’ve learnt and got to grips with the standard programmes now it’s time to experiment a bit.

Ps Pink Floyd is my favourite band ::g

PinkFloyd I recently found a lovely gold posy ring and the reading was 22. I thought it was coke as the xy was (almost) but not quite vertical and as there were few signals around I decided to dig. Late 1600s and maybe my best ever find in 40 years.

If you want a quieter dig or not dig programme let us know ::g
But to be honest, if that’s your prefared detecting method, you could of saved a fortune and bought something mid range .

Why? You don't need to hear lots of different sounds to know if to dig or not. It doesn't make it a worse machine?

You don’t buy a deus to only get the finds a mid range machine will get , what’s the point in that ? Might as well buy a Garrett and save £800
But isn't that like saying you should only drive a Ferrari at max speed otherwise why waste your money?

Interestingly a lot if people like Ultimate which is much quieter but it can really do the business finds wise. Personally I like my machine noisy with full tones but not everyone does.

So going back to the OP’s original question I’d add in Ultimate and a couple of custom programmes tweaking an odd thing for your site and swing speed. You also need to decide if you like full tones or prefer a reduced number. The stock programmes are pretty darn good though so don’t feel compelled to mess about too much. Switching between programmes does waste a bit of time getting your ear in again, especially if you move to a radically different sounding programme like sonar ::g
