Soda / vapor blasting coins ?

Has anyone tried soda or vapor blasting coins ? I soda blasted two vintage carburettors off classic cars with ordinary household baking soda, they came out like new, and it just washes off with water, did no damage whatsoever to the carbs, I have not got the equipment anymore so cant try it on the coins !
