Very enjoyable day,with great company,real good fun and we hope can be repeated very soon :).
had some great finds,musket balls,bullets and a lovely little ornate silver ring.will upload a better picture of it tomorrow,

Forgot to add that the ring was dug out of the mud at 2ft 8 inches depth ! the 4pi is a DEEEEEEP seeker

its looking like the end 6 inches of a brown bess socket bayonet, circa 1730-1750

Heres a better picture of the silver ring,marked 'silver' inside.the onyx does polish up.

Heres a picture of the bayonet OR sword tip (only discovered it could be a sword tip just now.
its sprung steel,triangular and goes to a fine point.

yhe plenty left down there specialy the militery stuff i think we all went home with a hanfull of musket balls lol,

yhe that 2nd coin i thought was a 2p turned out to be a 1941 one penny ( not old i know ) but mu oldist coin so far so i was :)
