a month with the ATpro......

Post by Ringpullstiltskin »

Hi everyone, - sorry before you read this as the links aren't working to bigger pics but its taken me ages and so I can't face redoing them all now besides I don't know why its not working but anyway......

I've had the ATpro for one month now and here's how I've done in no particular order.........

a promising start..

the coins..

a bit more silver.....

then I got the missing piece from the Owzthat game.....I found three of the other bit of the game before but never this bit ::g
Image

then some older stuff........
decorated spindle whorl
ImageImage

a pot foot
Image

enameled horse pendant
Image

enameled harness stud
ImageImage

but best of all for me was this peacock seal........

I absolutely love this last find.

Overall I've had a good month and have to be happy. I did some tests with the AT pro and good size hammered (eg Lizzie sixpence) come in at around 75. A full gold stater 65ish, a hammered penny 55 and a quarter stater 45, but all with a distinct crisp response which sound different from some crappy items which seem to 'build up' to a good signal rather than giving the instant good tone as the head passes over.

I'm gutted I can't get the link working properly to the big images but I'll put them on my site soon

Thanks both, ::g I know I said I was planning a river trip John but that was when it was 80+ here and I was in my shorts! It looks like I'll wait for next summer before I do any water detecting. Sorry my photos are so poor. I haven't been able to make out any of the legend around the seal as I think it is just damaged a little too much.

Some fantastic finds there ::g
I'm thinking of getting an AT Pro as a 2nd machine. I like the idea of it being waterproof (after this poxy Summer !!). I just wish the screen had a backlight as i detect mostly in the evening.

Some nice things there mate..The AT and ET are the two on my short list for upgrade. The AT because I already have the Euro and get on OK with it and the ET because of it`s track record, reviews, noise cancel (think this will sway it as I have a lot of land affected by radio interference). What sort of depths are you getting with the AT?

Hi mate I'm a new at pro user and wondered if you could give me bit advice you av had agr8 first month with the detector and seeing all your finds av give me alot more confidence in finding the goodies:-) I was out on a field with a friend using a etrack with a large coil today I dug 6 coins witch was more then what he found and seemed to work well:-) but he did get a cut hammy and we did some tests at bout 4inch I was only just hitting it and was crap signal more of a iron sound so put me off abit seeing them results av all your hammys been a solid signal? Also how do you av yours set up for land plz? I'm going away on Friday to the weekend wanders rally and want to get the best out of my new machine

Thanks rich

Hi uklad, I've been using it on pro zero, two from max sensitivity and iron on 35. I have been thinking that most of my finds have been very shallow. Having said that I did some tests with decent sized hammies and picked them up well at over a foot so I'm sure it won't miss them. The small silver are all shallow finds but I have found more small hammies on ground I covered loads with the ace so maybe we're hoping for too much and can't really expect to pick up the tiny hammies too deep?

I I guess that's it mate it was only a cut half well maby not even half tbh so that's probs why it struggled with it..I'm glad u av done the tests and had good results silver seems to give off a cracking high signal:-) I no the gold rings come in about 53 on the target id I tend not to look at that to much and just dig any solid signals owt that's not just the low iron grunt any ways I get alot junk digging every thing but then I guess I want miss alot so its worthwhile u av had some amazing finds and thanks for your replie your post as really encourage me that I will find the goodies its just a case of getting out and waking over them now:-)
