Deus problem help please
My Deus machine is on the blink and I wonder if any fellow owners can provide a answer to the problem. The search head when on charge can stay charging for 5 hours without the solid light going to flashing on and off. I take it off charge and the control box indicates the search head is fully charged so off I go detecting. The control box still shows the head is fully charged for about 9 hours of use and then within 10 minutes or so the search head indicator on the control box goes to half charge then quarter charge then totally flat and the search head goes flat.

A similar thing happened to me very recently. I thought that the LED was stuck in the "on" position.
The coil had been on charge overnight as I forgot to take it off charge
It seemed ok though when I used it.
It could be that the contacts may have been dirty but I'm not sure.
I will be charging again tomorrow in readiness for Sundays outing
I'll let you know how I get on

Try plugging in all three things to charge up at once, even if some don't need charging, headphones, control box and coil. I had the same issue you mention but it seems to only affect it when I try and charge the coil on its own. Worth a try.

Ive had mine about 3 years too. The same thing happened to mine charging for hours but the light didnt flash. So i left it all switched on over night to fully discharge it, till it went flat. then re-charged it the next day and it was back to normal.

Update........
On the last outing I'd charged both coils as well as the 'phones and control box.
I only used the small coil.
I reattached the large coil and box/phones so all three were connected. The coil started to flash after a minute so it must still be fully charged from last week. I've now attached the small coil in it's place and that is now charging as normal.
I've had mine over three years now and out of curiosity I looked at the coil connections under a loupé and the pins looked slightly pitted.
Fingers crossed that the small coil flashes after a couple of hours or so
It won't be long before the coil batteries require renewing

Charging clips can also go bad, you could also try a new charging clip (beg or borrow)
The Deus coil should fully charge in two hours, and the solid charging light should turn
to a flashing light when fully charged, hope you get it sorted.
