XP Deus WS4 Headphones - robust or what!

Post by Ruffands »

OK so this numpty was in a hurry to get home and left his headphones on the roof of the car and drove home... I only discovered the loss 2 weeks later (when I was charging-up my kit) and I was INCONSOLABLE! (sob)
I rang around the two farms i had been on 2 weeks previously and one of my permissions said "yes, I found some headphones on the farm track in a muddy puddle after I ran over them with the Matbro" ("great!", I thought with a sigh) The farmer left them on a gate post in the rain for 2 weeks ("Argggh!", though I)
Anyway I went to collect them and sure enough, this frosty morning they were on the post as promised. Without any hope at all I tried the "on" switch and they sprang to life! I took them home and they spent the weekend on top of the Aga to dry out, and seem to be in A1 working order, just a bit scuffed.
Of course I am aware the microcircuitry may be corroding/oxidising as we speak - so i will be seeing if someone can do a service/clean! BUT WHAT A ROBUST LITTLE PIECE OF KIT !

the ws4 is well sealed unit as long as the rubber cap is in pushed in and you can replace the head band and ear part for about 20 quid ::g

Going by this (French I think) video, it seems you have nothing to worry about water damaging it......

To be honest I never knew they were that waterproof.

That is INCREDIBLE on so many fronts!

one, they were found, two they survived a major run over and three they still work.
That's simply unbelievable but true! ::g

Brilliant link to the video, even though I've seen it, I haven't got the guts to try it :O
They'll stay here: [:)
