Hi ya ,,
Nearly all of Bournemouth and Poole's beaches are council owned and there is no real restrictions on detecting. But because of that you do get quite a few people Detecting on them. ( including me ) .. Most of Poole Bay is again council owned and some parts are covered by a crown shore permit. No real restrictions, But if you cross over on the Sandbanks ferry to Studland Beach this is owned by the National trust and some area's are a Nudist Beach. You wanna be careful what your swinging there as most of the swinging there has nothing to do with metal detecting lol .

Poole and Bournemouth have about 7 miles of beach so there is always something to be found and come summer they become more productive when everyone flocks to the beach.

I never find loads but I go down to the beach quite often as the beaches are so gorgeous its nice to get out and have a stroll a long the beach. Best time to go is early mornings when there is only a few dog walkers and joggers out.

Good Luck

I'm going to be staying in Poole for a week and want to try some beach detecting.
Do I need to ask permission from Poole council for the foreshore they lease from the Crown estate?
(I have the CE permit and map)

Some useful tips for tecting a nudist beach.
* Remember that many of the best finds are eyes only
* Stay well clear of the sand dunes, you might come across more than you expected
* If you are a shy type, buy an extra large finds pouch
* And definitely dont offer to find any lost rings!
Imagine there is no heaven, only sky above us.
