2nd WW Fuze a beauty

Post by Grifftron »

One for chopper and Dave and of course the rest of you.

Dad beat me hands down today, hammered, silver and this on the way to the car, eyes only find it was as well.

Its a 2nd WW Anti Aircraft shell, Fuze is still attached and the pointy bit (not sure what you call this !!) looks like it has had a semi explosion. really heavy as well, about 2KG, gonna get it in the alloy wheel cleaner see how it comes up.

Cool stuff Paul, yet to find one of the alloy types with the "pointy" bit still on, just get a load of mashed up white power in the dirt, think it is some kind of Aluminium Alloy

Don't know if you have seen them but I did some posts a while back about the Fuzes ?

British Anti-Aircraft No.199 Fuze

British Anti-Aircraft No.208 Fuze

British Anti-Aircraft No.700/701 Fuze

its a 199 i think, and maybe the top is made of magnesium alloy, the other bombs ive found are made of this and it looks the same.
