South Lincs/Peterborough buddys?

Post by Hazzee »

Hi all,

I'm a 52 year old, easy going chap, looking at getting back into detecting after a few years out.

Recently rejoined Central Searchers and looking forward to a dig or two - my first one will be tomorrow....

Also looking for a buddy who wouldn't mind me tagging along with them on a dig or two in the South Lincs/Peterborough area.

Looking also for some permissions in my local area but no luck so far.

Regards,

Shaun

Hi shaun I'm from Cambridgeshire originally but living in Grantham,Lincolnshire so not to far away. I'm struggling for permissions at the minute but won't let that get me down.. Il keep researching and trying my luck.. have to admit it's frustrating when I have a new machine I'm dying to try out.. oh well

Happy hunting mate

Hi Jamie,

Don't know if you know, or how far you are from South Lincs, but I went out with a club today that has loads of unsearched land out Sutton St Edmunds way - really nice people too. They used to run a club in the south called Three Counties. They now call themselves The Detectorists and can be found on Facebook. They are taking members on at the mo but will cap it at 400. I'm 204.

They also have a 4 day dig on next weekend but I alas cant make it. It's £20 membership for a year and £15 a dig. £20 for non members. I joined them today as they are only 10 miles from my house. Ideal.

Hope this helps.

I even managed to pull up a nice little roman grot on my second day out with me new Nox 800.

Hope this helps,

Shaun

Thanks for the info Shaun.. I'm currently a non driver so rely on public transport so that's probably a bit out my way I reckon.. I do have easy train links to Peterborough though just 2o mins on train so may have a look out that way if need be..

Hi! I'm from the Peterborough area! Definitely keen to meet up / try to organise something! Attempting to gather some permissions at the moment! I can update you as and when I get anything! Are any of you in a club around here?

Hi Chaps,

I'm 46 and a beginner to this game and always wanted to try it. I live in Peterborough and I am always around the area even up to Boston on weekends visiting Family.

I've Just this week bought my Equinox 600 and would love to meet up with new friends and get to know the community. If anyone would love to give a beginner a helping hand into the fantastic world of Metal Detecting please message me.....Cant wait to try it

ps. I use to live on a Farm. Know the farmer well, so I may well be able to seek out permissions in the Stamford area.
