Post by detecting rod »

ok so ive only been detecting about 4 months and the addiction has kicked in,have the 300i oldest coin so far 1864,couple of other old bits good few coins ,my question is should i buy a nel tornado coil for this machine or wait and just save up some more money and upgrade whole machine ,if i buy a couple of new coils for my 300i im 25% of the way to a better machine ?

Hi Rod,one question would be-what sort of ground are you searching or have in the pipeline?

The Nel Tornado coil will transform your machine. It depends on your budget and as Lowland has stated - the type of searching you do. For the Beach, maybe the Garrett isn't the best, but for pasture / arable it'll pretty much match the other more expensive machines.

Bottom line - if your budget is £150ish, then the Nel coil is a great investment. If you have a much bigger budget, the the choice is there for you.

It's worth remembering, items need to be in the ground and you need to walk over them. Not all land is productive.
Good luck.

They told me I’d never be any good at poetry, because I’m dyslexic, but so far I’ve made 3 jugs and a vase.
