Minelab pro-find 35 speaker cleaning

Just bought a used one, speaker jammed up with mud, best way of cleaning out please.

Running water, small toothbrush sized brush and cotton buds, I wrap my speaker hole with a bit of black insulation tape to stop this issue, its normal when working in muddy areas and cant be helped, I can hear the probe okay with speaker covered.Good luck

Hi when flushed out dry with hair drier and put the hover hose over it .

Just how deep are the holes in the speaker of the 35, have cleaned out what I thought was enough but it's not as loud as those on the videos I've watched.

Yeah partly humour, but partly serious as well!- it's difficult, or near impossibe to gauge volume from someone's video!- theres too many variables.... what equipment they used to do the recording, device, microphones, what gain levels etc etc, even the room they recorded in will make a difference, and of course how do you know what volume you should set your viewing device on to match that of the person who uploaded the video etc!.

From what I heard the Minelab pinpointers aren't very loud so it might just be that they are a bit quieter but I'm not sure- others on here might be able to give you more of an idea though!.

Right, cleared out the holes and found the gap mentioned, however it's still not very loud, it's a very dull tone but I'll manage. It's the most sensitive probe I've ever had.

This tip should not compromise any guarantee remaining on your pin-pointer!

Taping-up the end of the attachment for cleaning upholstery that comes with most vacuum cleaners leaving an aperture of 10 mm or so, this will increase and concentrate the suction power available at the business end. By then offering it up to the speaker aperture, any loose dried mud deposits should be removed 'toot sweet'

Additional tip - If any mud should remain, try vigorously shaking the pin-pointer to break down any larger sized bits and then simply repeat the procedure Regards ss47

PS. During this procedure, If at some stage you are unable to locate your pin-pointer, check the hoover dust bag

Tried the hoover trick and it's no change, it's not a major problem and I bought it second hand so warranty not an issue. Had a look in from the battery end and it looks like internals are sealed in. At the end of the day it works.
