Does anyone use Box frames to display their finds?

Hi made these a couple of years ago from some old frames so I could display my family medals and some coins.
Currently finishing off a small old gilded victorian frame to display a set of Elizabeth 1 coins.
I like to see things such as the medals on display rather than tucked away in a draw.

I've always used trays and cabinets for coins and medals, etc... mainly because I wanted both sides viewable, but some of these are lovely so I may have a go.

Basic question, I guess, but how do you guys mount/fix coins and medals in place?

Hi some years ago I talked to a guy in a museum and asked what they had used to mount their coins. I purchased some acid free so non reactive clear acetate film.
It is very fine and comes with a backing paper.
On the film Cut a fine cross shape with a circle in the center the size of the coin you are mounting.
The four arms of the cross are then pushed through slots at North, East, South, West of the coin sides and pulled through the back, folded over and secured with tape.
The coin then sits in its own clear pocket safely held in place.
Try and keep finger prints off the clear acetate and coins....use gloves.
Some of mine have been in frames for over 6 years and have shown no signs of tarnishing at all.
If you can pull the film tight against the coin then the film is almost invisible but obviously not 100%
It is a very fiddly job and helps to draw out the coins how you want them displayed on the backing card first.
Currently looking for the supplier I used for the rolls of film for you.
