The Wash - East Coast
Hi,
Has anyone detected in the Wash on the East coast?
I'm thinking of taking a trip down there from Doncaster and would like to know if the trip will be worth the fuel?
Thanks
Russ

but it's a heck of a size, right? the wash. hope you have good fortune there if you decide to go, is it crown foreshore?

Real treasure lies not in what that can be seen, but what that cannot be seen.

Reckon it was just an insurance scam...stargazer wrote:Bad old King John was reputed to have lost a fortune around the Wash. No one has found it.

Will I? Won't I? What kind of silly question is that?

Hi,
I've looked at the foreshore maps and it looks like it is crown foreshore.
I've already got my license as thought it was best too (although the rivers that i've been too inland (where it says you can go)...well the banks are all too steep...sheer drops! Is that the hook? Well give you some detectoring space but you want be able too detect unless your a fish or have very long legs?)
If anyone has been detecting at The Wash let me know. Was it any good? Did you found the lost treasure?
Dont want to take a trip down there only too find its all a bombing range or a nature reserve.

800 years ago wisbech was near the coast ......the land has been reclaimed.......if you tried 10 miles inshore you would be more fruitful ....the trouble is no-one kept records of the claimed lands.....good luck anyway m8
