Change of tactics brings beach gold and silver

Post by fred »

Since my last post the weather has changed and pebbles have covered up most of the beaches so I have been struggling to find much at all. A fiver is a good day and many sessions have produced much, much less. Yesterday I changed down to the stock coil and started to concentrate on the small gullies where the compacted shingle is on or near the surface. The first session was light on coins and (very) heavy on fishing weights, however, a small silver Pandora 'MUM' heart charm and a silver ear ring gave some encouragement.

Today I went for a long drive but was unable to find anywhere that looked even vaguely hopeful to detect. Along the way ten minutes of my precious time was spent waiting while a very tall blond and extremely pretty lady windsurfer struggled into her wetsuit in the middle of the coastal road. There are definitely worse ways to be delayed and I should be out of therapy by Christmas. [88/]

I eventually arrived back at where I was yesterday and tried the same tactic again. Once again I started digging up fishing weights one after the other. The fishing weight signals are pretty obvious 19 and 20 readings on the Nox and I generally leave the very deep ones as the digging is not easy. However, eventually a sharper than usual 19 reading with a slightly different tone threw up a 7.5 gram 9ct wedding band from all of an inch down. After that coins eventually started to trickle in and towards the end of the session I had an unmissable silver screamer of a signal. This turned out to be a shallow silver Tiffany ring of a pattern that I have found before. By now the forecast rain had arrived, my ammo pouch contained a hernia inducing amount of lead and the tide was coming in fast so I called it a day. [81/]

I’m not very impressed Fred, that wasn’t very gentlemanly Of you watching a young lady struggle and not offer to help.
I’ve flashes of Benny Hill in my head now. . I’ll probably get knocked of here Now. 😂

Any hand that I offered would not be well received and anyway I don't need to get put on any (more [88/] ) lists at my age, if nothing else it's misrepresentation.

The story is better than the find!!!
Somehow as one gets older .. the legs get longer!! :) :) :) :)

and an impossible mission morphs into mission impossible!!!
Imagine there is no heaven, only sky above us.
