The Beach:
After a 5 hour drive, I arrived at the beach to be greeted by huge mountains of sand and a bulldozer spreading the new sand all over the beach. I knew I wouldn't find much treasure when I saw that.

Finds: Lots of coins, a few keys, I found 2 phones however the scoop demolished one when digging it out of the sand, so 1 in picture. The most unusual find was a US MRE ration pack. 1 fashion ring and loads, literally hundreds of cans, pulltaps, beer bottle tops and soju bottle tops.
Conclusions:
The ACE 150 is a great machine for the dry sand. If it is there, it will find it. I used it also in the wet sand and sea. I turned the sensitivity down to 2 bars. It was finding cigarette packets and pulltaps down at around 4 inches in the sea. It found a phone down at about 7 inches in the wet sand, unfortunately the scoop ate it and broke it to a thousand pieces. I dropped the ACE in the sea by accident whilst recovering a find (no cuff strap), turned it off, removed batteries, dried it with a towel, and was back in business. Amazing little machine.
I also used a Whites Beach Hunter that a friend lent me. Could not get on with it, the constant hum was driving me mad after 2 hours in the sea.
The scoop was amazing, really saved my back. It is a beast of a scoop but if the point hits anything, you can kiss goodbye to that object!
It was my first time detecting in the sea, and boy does it tire you out! I really want to upgrade to a machine that is waterproof now (I'm thinking AT Pro, fits budget, but still unsure about the reviews-will research some more). It was great being in the cool sea whilst soaking up the hot sun. No gold or silver but a great few days on the beach.
