Axe head?

Can anyone ID this please - it's about 2" long; 1" high; tapers from abase of about 1/3" to a sharp edge.

Quite heavy for its size.

Has a "slot on the underside"

Dark in colour.

Not the best pics

but i would post that on ukdfd

i think it is a bronze age axe head fragment

worth ID'ing, as its as old as you will ever find probably

I think it's more engineered than the example you've shown Jayreef.

you mean a "Hide Scraper" :)

i don't know, the only hide scrapers i have seen are flint ones, i presume there are more up to date ones :)

could be.........

but still looks like an axe head from a bronze age axe to me though, happy to be corrected and learn something new though :)

Take it to your local museum. Most do free identification services.

everyone is sure its a socketed type axe head
