Hi everyone new to this forum glad to be here i am from kent.
My question is to the orx users on here as i am thinking about getting myself an orx due to it being a very light detector what coil should i go for the white 9 inch hf coil or the black 9 inch x35 coil I don’t do any beach detecting mostly pasture and plowed.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Coinshooter1, as you are doing pasture and ploughed, it might be worth considering the 11" X35 coil.

Both have their place. The X35 offers more options for a bit more depth so I’d agree with Bob - X35 ![ThumbsUp [81/]](./images/smilies/81_EmoticonsHDcom.png)

I’d go for the 9” HF coil - excellent coil for picking up smaller items such as hammered coins and purchase the 11” X35 later for covering larger areas And targets such as pasture and larger deeper coinage - Good luck and enjoy ![ThumbsUp [81/]](./images/smilies/81_EmoticonsHDcom.png)

Hi coinshooter. I am new to detecting and in the same undecided position as you was regarding which coil to get with the ORX. Which way did you go and how have you been getting on.Coinshooter1 wrote: Sat May 23, 2020 8:58 pm Hi everyone new to this forum glad to be here i am from kent.

Hi i phoned two of the main metal detector shops for some advice about what coil to go for they both recommend the x35 coil as its an all round coil so i took their advice,
The coil seems pretty good and fairly stable i used it on trashy ground on coinfast setting it weeded
Out the smallest of roman coins no problems along with a load of buttons and old pennies.

Hi I have a 9 inch coil and a 11 inch coil went over the same ground with both today found a 1922 florin with 9 inch coil about eight to ten inches deep but found more bits and bobs with 11 inch coil

Glad I found this post!
Planning on an ORX pretty soon and the whole coil thing was driving me mad.
My question is what is the difference between the round coil and the eliptical one? At the moment i'm on pasture, not tried plowed or beach.
