Praa Sands Cornwall

Post by ianwhitaker »

Hi Folks,
I am due to go on holiday (yes finally allowed to leave the house) .
We are going to Praa Sands in Cornwall. I read an old post here about having to get permission for Praa Sands from the Duchy.
Is that still the case?
I will only be detecting shore line and will keep well away from dunes etc.
Appreciate any guidance.
Many thanks Ian

Hello Ian, Had two short sessions on Praa sands this week...... luverly beach to be on but SO CLEAN!!
Never seen a beach so clean...first time beach detecting without finding a single tent peg ( I do have probably the worlds largest rusty tent peg collection). Lord knows how people anchor their tents at Praa sands. Seemed to get a lot of EMF around the centre of the beach, possibly due to lifeguard walkie talkies/ beach cafe wifi?......much better at either end of the beach though, found some modern coins amongst a few bits of the usual junk. Good luck and let us know how you get on?
