Rechargeable Batteries

Hi.
Just wonder if I put rechargeable batteries to mine explorer se, will I be able to charge them with minelab charger?
Thanks for any help.

Manual states that standard rechargeable batteries may be used but to remove and recharge separately so I would do just that - remove and use a standard NiMh intelligent charger . It also states not to use Lion batteries.
