I have learnt from my mistakes and I’m quite sure that I could repeat them exactly.

We were down in Lytham St Anne's last year and I saw 2 people with metal detectors on the beach which I assumed it was ok as I then wished I had brought my own machine to do some sweeping down there.

I checked with Fylde Council. Detecting is permitted on all their beaches (Lytham St Annes included). All they ask is that holes are back filled and that no detecting or digging is cone on the sand dunes. Detecting is not permitted in their parks and gardens.
