Hi there,
I was wondering if anybody else has had the problem with a ProFind 20 not starting up.
I purchased it last year and it was a bit hit and miss starting up the first time I tried it. I put it down to the battery but it was the same when I put a new one in. I eventually sort of gave up and rightly of wrongly put it away.
I decided to take it out yesterday and give it a try with a brand new Duracell battery but it just gave a couple of half hearted noises and shut down.
I rang Minelab and they say to specifically use an Energiser battery and see how I go on with that. I’m obviously going to try that but it doesn’t seem right somehow that a new battery of a different brand wont do the trick.
I just wondered if anybody else had ever had the same problem.

I agree with you but batteries do seem very temperamental these days, even decent makes from 'reputable' sources. ![ThumbsUp [81/]](./images/smilies/81_EmoticonsHDcom.png)

A quick postscript on this topic.
I tried the Energiser battery as instructed and as I expected the pinpointer still didn’t work.
I rang Steven Cox at MSR the official Minelab repair centre and he was brilliant. I sent it off to him and got a brand new one almost by return of post so if was obviously faulty.
Fantastic service and one happy customer
Many thanks Steve if you engage on here.
