Detector for white gold
Detector for white gold
I’ve lost a precious bracelet my late husband gave me, I desperately need to find it, I bought a hand held but it doesn’t detect white gold! I’ve now ordered a Garrett ace 250.Can anyone help?

It would help to know roughly where she is located, exactly what's lost and if she knows whereabouts. I'm available if it's in Kent or Sussex.
Chains are a swine to find at the best of times though and white gold ones doubly so.![ThumbsUp [81/]](./images/smilies/81_EmoticonsHDcom.png)

Like everyone else has mentioned,we have no location to go by or even if the item has been narrowed down to a very small specific location, other wise it could be like hunting for a needle in a haystack.
More details would be most welcome.

Hello and thank you so much for your reply, I am in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. I know where I lost it, at a golf course and know the approximate area size to cover. I don't think I'm local to anyone who has replied...but thank you for replying. I tested the handheld on a piece of white gold, all good, but then realised when I took the piece out of the box, it wasn't registering, the handheld was picking up the metal in the box.
I have this Garrett 250 arriving tomorrow, I hope that can detect white gold. It's a small chain bracelet, probably still on the surface, under grass.

Hi Mae
I hope that someone on here is in the area and will be able to assist.
Just a reminder that anyone using a detector to search on the golf course will need permission.

Im afraid i cant tell you if it will pick up white gold but on the setup dont discriminate anything out. The sensitivity notch out 2 bars. Yes you will detect iron but you shouldn't miss targets. As the saying goes " swing low and slow " Have added a picture to help but make sure you use 4 x NEW batteries. The ace 250 control box is not waterproof but a good size clear plastic bag should do if it rains. Good luck bit keep us all updatedI have this Garrett 250 arriving tomorrow, I hope that can detect white gold. It's a small chain bracelet, probably still on the surface, under grass.

If the item in question is not to thin and lightweight and not deep in the ground, any detector should be capable to find it, if you swing over it. Only what is under the coil can be detected.
You need to swing flat over the ground (and maybe test with similar items so you get an idea how it should respond.)
Best greetings from Germany
