I've tried everyones settings now, yet still I'm digging far more iron than I ever do with my other machine. It's driving me nuts! Today I even chucked down a horse pendant I'd dug next to hole, and heard exactly the same signal but dug a long old iron nail. Add to the mix that every now and again it goes 'chatter' crazy, even when i hold it up in the air so I'm guessing I have a loose connection in the coil. (Sometimes slamming it into the ground, or stamping on it tames it, if only for a while.) I have no doubt at all it will be a good machine, I love the weight of it, but at the moment it's coming ever closer to being hoofed into the hedge...

Some days it's amazing that I even manage to find my car parked at the edge of the field. But I wouldn't change this hobby for the world.
