I have upgraded my 300i and wonder what peoples opinion is of it as a starter detector for my Grandson. He is 8 years old and pretty tall for his height (I can always get the shorter stem) so size is not a problem. He has used it with me on dry sand once and loved it - we had to keep everything he found , from a toy car to an old tent peg and bottle top lol .
Thanks for any advice - I am enjoying my time here.

Recon he will be fine with it, judging how quick kids are at working out gaming stuff etc. I'm sure he will get the hang of it OK and better to start on a decent machine more satisfying and he's more likely to keep on detecting then, rather than just get disappointed and give up.ceebee58 wrote: Sun Aug 28, 2022 12:05 pm I have upgraded my 300i and wonder what peoples opinion is of it as a starter detector for my Grandson.
