How is it possible that a coil can ruin a machine?
Considering the Karma-coil to add on my Garrett Ace 250. Got to used to the bigger coil the Ace 400i came with. Switching back to the Ace 250 because I just can't handle the 400i.

I'm not altogether sure what your complaint is but when changing a machine or coil which you've become thoroughly used to over a period of time, introducing a new coil or machine requires a similar amount of time/use to get used to it after all, that's why the change was made in the first place, to effect a change in performance to the one you're used to.
You haven't stated how long you've persevered but I'd say you need to give it more time before capitulating![[42/]](./images/smilies/42_EmoticonsHDcom.png "Thinking")

Because of healthproblems I have only been able to search about 25 times with the 400i in 2 hour sessions in the past 5 years. Hard to learn a MD properly with so little searchtime.
I search with only 2 blocks open. With the 250 that is no problem but the 400i just won't find the 2 euro coins. Adding a 3rd block solves that problem but I have to dig a lot more then I want to.
The Ace 250, for me, is just put it on and search happy. Finding the things I want to find. Now the only problem is: I got to used to have a bigger coil on the MD and the Karma 13" DD searchcoil looks like the right one for me. But maybe it is to big to use on the 250 so trying to find reviews but most are in polish or Russian (Youtube).
PS: I also have a problem with the 400i searchcoil so next tuesday I will take it to a detectorshop along with the 250 (broken armrest) to look into it. Probably gonna sell it or trade it for the Karma coil. Rather have one MD that works for me then two that both won't satisfy me.
