440 coils

Hi all... Newbie Alert!!! [87/]

Just taken up detecting and now the proud owner of a 440. Not had a chance to try it properly yet but hopefully very soon.

I was curious about the different coils available. Mine has the standard V10 coil but was just wondering what the difference/advantages/disadvantages are with the V8 and V12 coils?

Hello dave the 8 inch coil would be better for trashy areas and the 12 inch coil for more ground coverage and bit more depth

I have all 3. The only real difference I have found is that the 8 inch is easier to swing and use in tighter spaces. I'm sure there must be other differences but I haven't particularly noticed them.

If you have the 10 inch I would say you have the best overall option

If you feel you do need another then I'd recommend the 8 inch.
