Argos Metal Detector (Digital)

Does anyone know much about the detectors being sold at argos, my mate was thinking of buying one the didital one nd there is a manual one cheaper.

Nar, I'd tell your mate to look elsewhere. It looks like a toy, and probably performs like one too.

Tell him to get another few quid together, and pick up an Ace 250.

Looks like a piece of big brown clod ;)
For an extra couple of pound get an ace 150,also it looks like its not the best designed thing around,looks like its very uncomfortable to use.

In a word "crap".Read the reviews further down the page from people who have bought it.As been said tell your mate to wait and save a little more money and get an Ace 150 or 250 these have a well deserved reputation and if he finds he doesn't take to the hobby he can always re-sell and get most of his money back.

The detector looks to be awkward to use as it lacks the "S stem and arm cuff" which most other detectors use to avoid hand/wrist strain when swinging the detector.

The price is quite high for what it is, as others have suggested the Garrett Ace 250 is a good machine to start with and has an outstanding reputation.
