Rock tumbler to clean coins ?

Does anyone use a rock tumbler to clean their coins if so would you recommend them?
Will they work on heavily corroded coins?
If not how do you clean your coins thanks in anticipation sooty

Really only advisable for already knackered coins, or ones of little or no value.

You can't improve the condition of a collectable coin with a tumbler you can only make it worse, if you tumbled a coin in a collectable condition you'd destroy it, if your intention is just so you can identify the coin the usual outcome is a shiny coin you can't identify, they're good for dirty modern coins you want to spend.

I bought one put my old copper none valuable coins through it and it turned them to slick discs in no time. It came with a bag of tiny ball bearings. I definitely wouldn’t put anything of any value anywhere near one!

The only use I get out of mine like dondo’s said is once in a blue moon cleaning up modern coins still in currency, £1,£2 and 50p coins but even with them you have to be careful how long you leave them in for. Prob’s take me 20 years using it for that purpose to pay for itself.

In my experience it was a waste of money.
