Spink is a good starting point, but If you have an unlimited budget, the references provided by the PAS might be worth looking at -

It depends how much detail you want Mark, and how much you want to spend.

The standard for identifying English coins is 'Coins of England' (Spink)

A nice and useful cheaper book is England's Striking History.

A slightly more expensive, but excellent book is 'A History of Medieval Coinage in England' https://www.greenlightpublishing.com/PB ... D=18099860

If you don't have any books on the subject yet, I'd go for the Spink. [81/]

Check the spinks book on Amazon, an excellent second hand one will only cost you less than a fiver.

For simple quick reading , giving justi background and general familiarisation 'England's Striking History' is what I started with before moving on to the others.
As above, depending how in depth your looking to go. In the end I find I end up with all of them! [30/]
