Lost Ring - Darlington area

Post by Cockerton »

I live at Cockerton, Darlington.

During the snowy weather, I lost a ring on (I think) on my front lawn.

After searching several times I have not been able to find it.

If anyone is close to Cockerton and they would be kind enough to bring

their detector, I would be most grateful.

Thank you for your message.

The signet ring was given to me by my parents at the age of 11.

I'm now 78 so it is important to me.

Cheers,

Peter

I don't know if this group is still going but they might be worth contacting, if you haven't already -- https://cdmd.co.uk but hopefully someone in the forum will step up to the mark!

Wondering if there's any metal detecting shops up your way may be worth ringing them see if they can recommend anyone local to have a look

Just wondering if changing the title of the post to 'Lost Ring - Darlington Area' might attract a bit of local interest?

Shame it wasn't nearer ..I'd be off to help straight away...surely there as got to be
someone a short drive away that can help.

Target area sounds small being a front garden...so shouldn't be too hard to find.

I hope someone can answer the call for help and can get a result for Peter.🤞

Regards.

If i lived nearer i would be more than willing to come and attempt to find your ring,i seriously hope someone comes soon and take a look, but one thing that concerns me is the comment 'I lost a ring on (I think) on my front lawn' i have been to locate a fair few rings over the years and many are not found in the 'i think' location and have either never been found due to loosing the item in a totally different location or they just have no idea.

Will keep my fingers crossed and you find in in a very short time duration and the sentimental ring is back on your finger again.

That's very true Mega B - but it's still worth a try for somebody living nearby. The owner needs to remember when they last saw the ring on their finger, when they noticed it wasn't there, and where they've been in the meantime..... not always straightforward.
