Mundane question so apologies in advance

Post by ceebee58 »

Now I am a bear of little brain so please forgive the question . What do people wear on feet whilst detecting in the surf ?
I use wellies in fields but in YouTube videos the user is either barefoot ( standing on the scoop - no thanks) or appear to be wearing something akin to rubber pumps.
I dread the thought of a wave splashing over my well top and squelching around for an hour or so .
Apologies but it is just one of those questions I keep asking myself .
Ace 400i .
Tried Deus Mk 1 but just too complex for my needs.
Excited to be getting a new Legend on the 31st March lol :);/

It's a long time since I did detecting on the beach and in surf, but sort of plastic sandals were around in my day, how about a pair of croc's.

Even in summer in the UK you'll be freezing after a few hours. There's also the risk of cutting your feet if you wear anything flimsy. If you're just paddling and it is warm enough I'd wear old trainers. If I was doing any sort of regular stuff I'd get some lightweight chest waders.

If it were me doing it, I’d probably try my Crocs. It’s about time I found a use for them!

I see you are using a 400i, same as myself.
Are you planning to use that on wet sand or even the sea, as i can`t see it working.
Even getting on the damp sand sends it chattering.
Good Luck, [81/]
